Do not let your fire go out. Spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-at. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours. -Ayn Rand

Fear. We all know the emotion. We have all felt the effects that fear can have. It is debilitating. It will keep you from maintaining the dreams you have painted on the walls of your bedroom. It will still your creative hand, and tear away the confidence you worked years to muster. The camera shutter stops clicking, the paint brushes lie still, the words remain unsaid... Fear will rip from you the very purpose for which you were brought here. The what-ifs, the will they like it's, and is it good enough. Sometimes, all it takes is putting a face on what you fear. When you can see what you are afraid of, it makes it easier to taking that and move forward to defeat it. To beat it. To push it into the depths of your past. You cannot move forward when weighed down, so release the baggage. Let go of the fear, and the doubts.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumph, even though checkered by failure. . . than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much, nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. -Theodore Roosevelt

When we learn to love our self, and live as our self, we find happiness. Disappointments and life's little surprises simply roll off your back. Optimism comes more natural to your lips. The sky stays blue, flowers stay in constant bloom, and you begin to feel like Mary Poppins... Ah hahaha! Maybe not quite so Disney, but it is easier to endure through the hard times, and appreciate the good days.

To be nobody but yourself in a world that's doing it's best to make you somebody else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting. -E. E. Cummings

181st Semi-Annual General Conference

I love General Conference! I love that it fills two days. I love that if you truly listen to the words and counsel of those who have been asked to speak, you receive answers to your questions, both asked and un-asked. Advice and and counsel that is much needed. I love the power, and comfort that comes from watching and listening to the leaders of our religion as they speak on the topics the Lord has given them. I am so grateful for the opportunity we are given to benefit from the testimonies of these great saints. (So far, my favorite has been Kent F. Richards talk!)

One thing that I have been thinking about during this first session of conference, is the Sunday worship. How do I, and the people around me view Sunday service? Do we take it as an obligation, something we have to do out of habit? Is it a negative thing we begrudgingly roll out of bed for? Something we eagerly await the end of so we can take the rest of the day and do what we want? Or do we realize it is a blessing to be able to come together and worship together? Do we benefit from the strength that comes in numbers, and the unity of so many that share our faith and belief? I know I vary between this. There are Sundays when I fight with myself. I don't want to wake up, and getting ready seems like such a hassel. More often than not, I am excited to attend the 3 hour block, and I strive to get both Aaron and I there on time. Though he works a full, and hard 12 hour shift on Saturdays, he does his very best to be up and ready in time to go. Some mornings all he is able to do is be there for sacrament, but I have never seen someone so dedicated to gaining what he can from what little he is able to attend. That example, I know, has been one of the things that has kept me mindful of the fact that it is a blessing to be able to attend sunday services. Another thing, is it is a new develpment for Aaron to be able to sit with me through all of our church services. Aaron works 3, 12-hour shifts, and 1 6-hour shift. His schedule used to be Sun-Wed, now it is, Wed-Sat. I cannot express to you how grateful I am for Sundays together with him. There is a different feeling on Sundays, and the fact that I am now able to spend the full day with him is incredibly special to me. On the Sundays when he would work, he would stay with me until 11:30. I would then go to him and spend his lunch break with him at 6pm. I don't know what it is, but there is something very special about spending Sundays with the people you love.

I am excited to listen to, and find out what the rest of the speakers have to say. To learn what it is our Father in Heaven would like us to know and focus on at this time.

HAPPY GENERAL CONFERENCE WEEKEND!!!

P.S. Does anyone else find it funny that is rains every conference weekend?

For you... anything!

A few points I want to make:

  • I am now 23 years old, I have 3.5 months to my wedding day. I have always said, I would be married in year 23.
  • I finally met [in person] LaTasha Kay Widdison.
  • I have the worlds greatest [future] In-laws!
  • My favorite, and amazing, best friend Alaina Mills has been home for almost 3 months now! I couldn't be happier and more thrilled to be able to spend as much time as possible with her!
  • Most importantly, I finally have a man in my life that I can and do depend on for anything and everything! Aaron is the best man that I know! Which is a good thing as I am sealing myself to him for time and all eternity 21 July, 2011 at 8:00am at the Salt Lake City Temple!!!

Let me just gush for a moment please. It could be that I am just that annoying love-sick girl at the moment, or it may truly be that I am without a doubt happy, and secure with my life situation right now! I have a man that I love, and that loves me back. Unconditionally! He is everything I have ever wanted in a man, right down to his defined chin, height, eye color, and yes, even shoe size! He is everything, and more. He fills in the cracks I left when I pictured my perfect guy, In my journal I have a very detailed description, that is even a little fairytale-esk at bullet points, for the perfect man. -- Aaron fulfilled them, and added more. I can't tell you how grateful, and amazed I was when I re-read that list, and was able to put a check by each thing. Fairy tales aren't supposed to come true. They are supposed to be pretend, yay disney you suck... Thank putting the prince Philip image in my mind and then leaving me to face the world of un-perfect men type thing. Right...? Wrong! Aaron has his faults, don't get me wrong, but they aren't faults you normally find. At least not the ones I have dated in the past. Aaron is not a flake. He is not all talk. He is not a meat-head. He is not a liar. He doesn't take advantage of situations. He isn't lazy, judgemental, shallow. Aaron is a gentleman. He opens every door, and pays for every date we go on, ,and makes sure I am happy, and that I have what I want and feel I need while still allowing/helping me feel capable and independant. Aaron knows how to compromise with me. He gives me my freedom, but still has this ability to put his foot down, and have me respect it. I have never met anyone that could do that. Any time anyone tried, I felt smothered, and I would run the other way. I would fight back. I don't with him. Aaron defends me, without making me appear weak. I could go on forever about how wonderful he is, but we all know a great man happens because of even more amazing parents. So I have to credit a lot of Aaron's behaviors and character to his parents teaching. Ron and Eva are the most amazing people, let alone parents! All of their children are phenomenal people! I feel so blessed to be able to join and be a part of their family! I look forward to Tuesdays for Durrant family night! I love that this family takes time out of their life, and busy schedules to spend time together as a family! It truly is amazing to feel the love and harmony a family can have for and with one another! That is something I have never had, but always wanted. I am truly excited for the future!!!

The Rose

The Rose - LeAnn Rimes with the Gay Men's Choir of Los Angeles

Yes, I am LDS, and yes I am a Christian, and yes, I understand the views of both on the topic of gays... but I also believe God loves all his children, without condition. I will keep my full views to myself for now, but know that I love my gay friends/family, and though I may differ in beliefs, and opinions from them I refuse to judge and exhile someone because of the way they choose to live their life. It is not our place to judge, it is our requirement to love.

Day 17 (11/2/10) - Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

Hmmm, someone I would want to switch lives with for one day? In all honesty I don't know that I want to switch lives with anyone right now, but if I had to, I'd have to say Joseph Smith. As for why I'd have only this reason, to know him better. I've been reading The Story of Jospeh Smith, writen by Lucy Mack Smith. I would love to understand what it was he felt, and everything he had to go through. I think it would give me a better understanding, and a greater appreciation for everything he has given to the world, and to me personally. I know that is funny to say, but without the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I truly would not be where I am today. I would not have the amazing people I have in my life. I would probably still be an angry kid; bitter against the religion of my father, and the neglect I felt as a child. I would not understand forgiveness, repentence, or what it is to have a Christ-like love for someone. There is so much that a person gains from being an honest member of the church. Not only do the gospel principles make sense, along with the values and morals, but it really is a choice thing. It is a lifestyle that we choose. We choose not to consume alcohol/drugs. We choose abstinence. We choose all of those things that separates the LDS religion from the rest of the world, and we live them because we want to. Joseph Smith, in his faith and trust in the Lord, has given me all that. I can't say if what I just typed is going to be understood by anyone but myself, but that is my honest answer to this question.

If I must choose someone fun, and random then I'd really have to say Joss Stone. The girl is crazy! She writes music like it's nothing, has a voice full of soul, and she isn't afraid to go out and do what she believes/wants/feels like doing. She really is the embodiment of the quote: "Give 'em hell, give 'em hell, give 'em hell! There are never enough trouble makers fighting for justice..."

Learning to Breathe

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Thank you Alexander for the photograph.

Oh The Places You'll Go...

I was thumbing my way through a few memories today while contemplating a rather bizarre dream I'd had last night when I came across 'Oh the Places You'll Go...' By Dr. Seuss. This book has always been a favorite of mine. It seems to me, the more you read it, the more you realize just how much depth this simple book has.

Congratulations!

Today is your day,

You're off to great places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And you are the guy who'll decide where to go.
You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."

With your head full of brains, and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find any you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course, you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen, and frequently do, to people as brainy, and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen, don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

Oh!

The places you'll go!

You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sites!
You'll join the high fliers; who soar to high heights.

You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed.
You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you'll be best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don't.
Because, sometimes, you won't.

I'm sorry to says so but, sadly, it's true, that bang-ups, and hang-ups, can happen to you.

You can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You'll be left in a lurch.

You'll come down from the lurch with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then, that you'll be in a slump.

And when you're in a slump, you're not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they're darked.
A place that could sprain both elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?

And IF you should go in, should you turn left or right... or right-and-three-quaters?
Or maybe not quite?
Or go around and back and sneak from behind?
Simple it's not, I'm afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused that you'll start in to race down long and wiggled roads at a break-necking pace, and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most usless place.

The Waiting Place...
...for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go, or a bus to come, or a plane to go, or the mail to come, or the rain to go, or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow, or waiting around for a yes or a no, or waiting for their hair to grow.

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite, or waiting for wind to fly a kite, or waiting around for Friday night, or waiting, perhaps, for their uncle Jake, or a pot to boil, or a better break, or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants, or a wig with curls, or another chance.

Everyone is just waiting.

NO!

That's not for you!
Somehow you'll escape all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places where boom bands are playing.

Oh, the places you'll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You'll be famous as famous can be, with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.

Except when they don't.
Because, sometimes, they won't.

I'm afraid that some times you'll play lonely games too.
Games you can't win 'cause you'll play against you.

All alone!
Whether you like it or not.
Alone will be something you'll be quite a lot.

And when you're alone, theres a very good chance you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some, down the road between hither and yon, that can scare you so much you won't want to go on.

But on you will go though the weather be foul.
On you will go though your enemies prowl.
On you will go though the Hakken-Kraks howl.
Onward up many a frightening creek, though you arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak.

On and on you will hike.
And I know you'll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are.

You'll get mixed up of course, as you already know.
You'll get mixed up with many stray birds as you go.
So be sure when you step, step with care and great tact and remember that life's a great balancing act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with you left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent garanteed!)

Kid, you'll move mountains!

So... be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van Alenn O'Shea you're off to Great Places!

Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.

So... get on your way!

Random Word Vomit

As I was writing in my journal and pondering the different things I going on around me, words began flowing across the page, and before I knew it I had answered my own questions. I had found the hope I had so desperately been searching for.

Life is going to come with all sorts of ups and downs. People will come and go, the faces will change, but the lessons learned will remain in our hearts forever. At times your feelings will be hurt, but there will be moments when your heart knows what it is to fly. It's all part of living and experiencing what it is to be alive! It's learning to live freely, love willingly, and trust openly. It's having the faith to move mountains even if that means taking it one shovelful at a time and knowing that with God, and through God, absolutely Nothing is impossible! (Luke 1:37) We don't need to know the ending before beginning a journey, or to begin a journey. We just need to trust that God knows the end and no matter what, his will, will be done with or without our, or anyone elses, approval! All he asks is that we believe and follow his words. He will take care of the rest.

It's like two of my wall quotes say:
'Accept the things to which fate binds you. Love the people to whom fate brings you, but do so with all of your heart.'
'Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.'

Isn't it strange how we almost always have the answers to our questions already within us? We just have to quiet our minds long enough to hear them.

All Because Nostalgia Came Out To Play.

Getting close to someone is something I've realized I don't do all that often. Giving someone a chance to know your secrets, and understand why you are the way you are...It sort of terrifies me. That is a vulnerability I don't often like to experience.  I have this complex, I supose you could call it -- I am convinced that People Always Leave.

'The pitter pat of long lost days dance echos in my mind. All because a simple word brought nostalgia out to play. The game of learning a heart, is a dangerous game, tells the soul that knows people rarely stay. A new rule, or addition to be learned with each new player joining; ideas shared, and names handed round filled the days will smiles and laughter. They came to play for one round, maybe two, but never made it to the last. The game was always finished with only one set of footprints left in the playground sand.'
(originally written in 2006)

But you know, when you do get to know someone -- I mean really know them, you have this set way of speaking. A language that belongs to the two of you. Inside jokes, play-on words, and phrases that incure certain emotions, and/or significant memories. There are things you don't realize were 'special' to your relationship until someone says something, and you respond with your 'normal' retort... and they give you the "wrong" answer... It makes you miss that one person, and soon your day is lost to a walk down a lane you didn't realize was covered in crisp autumn leaves... each step louder than the next...

Who is NieNie

There is a button on my sidebar that says 'I read NieNie.' I've been asked a few times who this is, and why it is on there. It is there because I was amazed by this woman and her story, and feel it should be shared. Watch this video and it will explain everything to you better than I could. This is Stephanie Nielson, and this is her story.

Carpe Diem - Seize The Day

Carpe diem quam minime credula postero – "Seize the day, trusting as little as possible in the future"

Carpe Diem: Seize the day

We always put off being happy, convincing ourselves that after this one last obstacle we will find happiness. The truth is, there is no better time than right now to stop and create happiness for ourselves! Because if not now ... When? Life will always be filled with challenges and excuses. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy and satisfied with how things are anyway!

Alfred D. Souza said:
" For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

Crystal Boyd wrote:
"So stop waiting until you finish school... until you go back to school... until you lost ten pounds... until you have kids... until your kids leave the house... until you start work... until you retire... until you get married... until you get divorced... until Friday night... until Sunday morning... until you get a new car or home... until your car or home is paid off... until spring, until summer... until fall... until winter... until you are off welfare... until the first or fifteenth... until your song comes on... until you've had a drink... until you've sobered up... until you die... until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...

Happiness is a journey ... not a destination!!

Thought for the day:
Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching."

Time after time we sit and wait for happiness to come to us, to find us. When we should be giving our hesitations a seat in the back and move forward towards those goals and dreams that make us happy! Rather than focus on why we can't be happy right now, or what more we have to do until we can be happy... let us focus on what we are doing to be happy! When we are actively pursuing that which makes us happy, we find that we already are.

Grace Under Pressure

"I thought I knew you. But I guess it's easier to see what we want than to look for the truth. You think you know me but you don't. And that means you don't know what I can do. I may not always know what I'm doing but I'll try to make things better. I can't do this alone, but if you'll take a chance on me, we can do great things together. John F. Kennedy said, "the courage of life is a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy. A man does what he must, in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures. And that is the basis of all morality".

There are those that believe I am a failure because I still live in my parents house. I don't have a state recognized job, or formal education past a high school diploma. I have to fight for the respect of peers, and often feel looked down upon because I don't seem to be on their level. To them I say, who are you to judge me? I wake every morning, and get ready for the day same as you. I work throughout the day, I am exhausted as the sun goes down, just like you. As I hit my knees each night I go through my day with my God, and I thank him for the many new things I learned in that day he gave to me. I may not be learning the how to excel in my chosen career just yet, but I am learning how to run a house, raise a family, and create an atmosphere of unity within siblings and parents. This isn't what I wanted to be doing at 22 years old, but since I am here I will make the best of it. Because I have had to wait to "move forward" in life I find I am more driven and fearless than just about anyone else I know. It is just going to take me a little longer to reach my goals than the people around me. I will not sit and let my life rush past me forever. When my time comes I will reach out and pull the world to a halt so that I might jump in and take my place. I will graduate from college, and I will succeed in the career I choose. I will be more grateful for the opportunity of school, and having control of what is happening around me. If ever I am blessed with a family of my own I will be better prepared for what it comes with. It won't be such a culture shock, and I am truly grateful for that leg up. So don't you tell me I am a failure. The only day I will accept failure is the day I say I have not learned anything.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.
-Ambrose Redmoon

Trusting Idiot

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me -- Fool me after that and I am just a trusting idiot!

You pretend rather than believe they care about you. Time and time again you try to fool yourself into believing what is happening in your mind is real, despite the obvious facts. You pretend you are more than just a rag doll, that you are seen as a living, breathing, feeling being, deserving of respect and love. I'm sorry to say there comes a time when you  have to step up and accept that you will never be more to that person than just a tool, a stepping stool, welcome mat, rag doll... It hurts, but what hurts worse is coming to the realization that somewhere along the line of living in a pretend world justifying every foul play you came to believe your lies. You fooled yourself into thinking it was your fault, and that fighting it wasn't going to help anything so instead you laid down and let life steam roller over you. Soon you're bouncing from person to person, not being able to discern a good friend from a jerk. Eventually you stop caring, and you find yourself a filler person for someone. You find yourself getting into a "sort-of" relationship you know won't work because they are waiting for someone else, but you just don't care anymore. It's nice to finally be seen as a person, to feel needed, and wanted even for just a little while. It's worth it to you to waste your emotion on that person, to invest time, and effort, just to be seen and heard for a moment.

That isn't a way to live! It isn't right, and it isn't fair to anyone! I am sorry to say this happens more often than it should!

There are those souls who are givers. Then there are those who are takers. Givers tend to lose their way and forget their worth. Takers rule the corporate world.

To every person it is owed and deserved, common courtesy.

It takes two people to have a friendship, or any kind of relationship for that matter. If one person doesn't do anything, it won't work and you need to just leave it where it is. It is a difficult thing to do, but I promise you, in the aftermath you won't be alone. You will have learned self-worth, and found someone who makes you laugh, and gives you a happiness and a peace of mind that you deserve!

Lost In A Field Of Grace

It was a beautiful day, so I took a walk.
It was not soon before I found I was lost.
Wandering in circles through the thicket (or so it seemed.)
I stumbled and fell, but still I pushed on.

Turning my eyes to the sky, I followed the clouds.
I was sure they knew the way for they see further than I.
Through the thicket I pushed, and an ending I found.
To my surprise I was emptied out into a river of boulders and rocks.
There I found a friend lost in tears of woe.
Sitting between a rock and a hard place she cried;
why she was left here alone.
I offered my hand and together we continued

Upon our travels we learned many new things.
To accept what life brought us, and love without shame.
All souls are created equal, black, white, and everything in between.

Learn How To Fly

When you come to the edge of all the light you know and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on or you will learn to fly.

Unafraid of the Unknown

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course when faced with the unknown most of us prefer to turn around and go back...

If having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I am a failure. The important thing is not to be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past, and recognize that every day won't be sunny. And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair remember it's only in the black of night that you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, because most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you ever wished for. Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long, and in the end the journey is the destination.
(-Whitey)

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads...

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads afraid. Confused. Without a road map. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course when faced with the unknown most of us prefer to turn around and go back. But once in awhile people push on to something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone. And just beyond the courage and bravery it takes to let someone in, or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because, it's only when you're tested that you truly discover who you are. It's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief. And beyond the heartache and fear of what lies ahead.

You can't hide from life. Eventually you have to live it.

One Day, Some Day, and Tomorrows...

One Day I will...

Some Day I will...

Tomorrow I will...

It's said that the One Days, Some Days, and Tomorrow's will never come. I say they will. I say they do. I say that with a little patience and time ... With a bit of effort, and a spot of faith they will come ... And have come. We simply call them by a different name when those moments reach us. We call them Today's.

Have You Ever Tried To Hold The Sky

Have you ever tried to hold time in your hand?

Have you ever tried to hold something longer than you should?

Have you ever tried to hold natures secrets?

Have you ever tried to stop the water with just your hands?

Have you ever tried to hold another's pain?

Have you ever tried to hold something that was too big for just you?

Have you ever tried to hold something that wasn't yours to hold?

Have you ever tried to hold onto the light?

Have you ever tried to hold a promise?

Have you ever tried to hold on to a wish?

Have you ever tried to hold the sky? ...

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill went up a hill to fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
and Jill turned him into her parrot.

Back down through town
Poor jack could be found
Being shown all around as Jill's trophy

Jack thought himself blessed
To be the one Jill loved best
And proudly spouted the words that she gave him

Thus Jack was deserted
Thanks to the words that he'd spurted
For his friends lost all patience with him

Jill said Jack never you mind
The rest of the world is blind
For Jill had fallen in love with her creation

Poor Jack thought her true
(Though the poor soul had no clue)
She was not the one to love him through the hereafter

Jack sought to travel the world
He was such a beautiful bird
And Jill promised to him her forever.

So Jack gave her his heart
Though he knew it wasn't smart
And he banished all thoughts of his mistake

When home Jack returned
That poor soul learned
How Jill had not for him waited

A prince had come, and in town he had found
A beauty he wished to be crowned
Twas Jill, that unfaithful girl he'd chosen!

Jill flattered and wooed
Her predicament she did brood
And wrote poor Jack a 'Dear John'

Now Jack was betrayed
His poor heart tattered and frayed
To that hill with heavy feet he did trod.

Sitting atop he did cry
Asking, Dear Father, Why?
My soul is now broken in two!

A Dove did descend
And reminded him of his friend
Then left poor Jack with a bottle of glue.

The boy stayed his tears
As he grappled with his fears
And looked down in the grass where he sat

His old crown he saw there
Full of hope Jack shouted a prayer
And set to work with his glue in hand

The task now complete
Jack looked down at his feat
The crown sparkled and gleamed like new

On his head still it fit
There forever will it sit
For Jack finally learned his lesson

When your heart says to you, 'No'
And still forth you do go
Down the hill you are sure to tumble

But when truth you do follow
And your pride you do swallow
Peace and love will be yours in the end

On occasion they do go back
Atop the hill for dear Jack
So he can remember the lesson he learned.

 Jack with his crown
Should never again frown
As forever the two will live in Happy ...Comradery...?
